About: Hot water is the second largest energy expense in the home. Water heating accounts for 18% of a family's total energy bill.
Rebate amount: Rebates are only available for new construction locations prior to occupancy; replacement units or occupied installations do not qualify. NREMC will provide a bill credit of $200 for a 40-gallon (or $250 for a 50-gallon or larger) electric water heater to qualified applicants.
Potential savings on energy bill: Members can save up to $100 on their bill each year by having an efficient water heater.
